Falcons to compete in FAU Invite

The women's cross country team takes on multiple teams from around the state on Friday at the FAU Invitational in Boca Raton. Led by the powerful duo of All American Shannon Jones and sophomore sensation Giovana Meade, the Falcons will get to see how they fare against teams of all levels.  NCAA Division I teams such as UCF, Stetson, Miami, FAU, FIU, FGCU and others are expected to be out front.  But the Falcons hope to be in the hunt with many teams in the field and the goal is always to be the best junior college team in the field.  Other Falcons to watch for are first year runners Brooke Gerrits, Trinity Trett, Ali Bolye and Molly Burt.  Coach Judy Wilson, now in her 6th year as the Falcons Head Coach and 24th season coaching cross country, is optimistic about this year's squad.  "We have quite a few new people, but it is really going to be exciting to see where we end up byt he end of the season.  The sky is the limit for this group."  The women's 5000 meter race will start at 6:30pm, immediately following the men's race.  The site of the race is the South County Regional Park, 12551 Glades Rd, Boca Raton.
