Falcons Excel in Run the Beach Relay

Women's Cross Country had its first outing of the season on the beach on Thursday evening.  Running in pairs, the Falcons performed well in the relay style race.  Each pair ran a total of four miles, and each individual running ran a total of two miles.  Sophomore Giovana Meade and freshman Trinity Trett led the Falcons with an average mile pace of 6:12 per mile.  Meade's splits were an amazing improvement over last year's run as she went 60 seconds per mile faster than her 2022 times.  All American Shannon Jones and her partner, newcomer Molly Burt, were right behind with an average mile pace of 6:20.  The freshman team of Alison Boyle and Brooke Gerrits cross the finish line next with an average mile pace of 6:46.  The fourth pair for the Falcons was sophomore Jonna-Marie Kirk and newcomer Francesca Azzollini finishing with an average pace per mile of 6:47, and the fifth pair was Alexis Mills and Kaitlyn Harding, 6:53. Next up for the Falcons is the University of North Florida Invitational on September 1st.
