Jacob began his running career in 8th grade because at the time his entire friend group was also involved in the sport. However, he continued long after those friends quit. He chose to attend Daytona State College due to the exceptional coaching of Coach Wilson and has since improved significantly from his high school career.

Why did you choose Daytona State: "I chose to attend Daytona State solely due to the faith that I have in Coach Wilson and her training being superior to any other coach's training that I could've recieved."
Coach's Comments: With a good summer of training and a burning desire to improve, Bormet uses this season to continue to improve and develop as a student and a runner. His work ethic and focus are strengths that will serve him well as he seeks to continue his running beyond Daytona.
