The 10th ranked Daytona State Women's Cross Country team heads to Ocala on Friday, Oct 2nd for a match up with Region 8 teams for the third time this season.  The B3R Sports Invitational is  a 5,000 meter race that will take place at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, FL.  The course is a spectator friendly course and with the current dip in temperature, Coach Judy Wilson is hoping that a dip in times occurs as well.  "The team has been training well for the last two weeks, and with the humidity and temperature a little more runner friendly, I think we will see some breakthroughs."  The Falcons look to Sophomore Sara Mott (DeLand, FL) and freshman Harleigh Bilz (DeLand, FL) to lead the Falcons as they go up against Region 8 foe Pasco Hernando State College.  "We got within 10 points of Pasco a few weeks ago and we just need a couple people to step up and be a bit more aggressive in that second half of the race", Wilson said.   The Falcons third, fourth, and fifth runners will need to close up the gap on Mott and Bilz to pull off the win.  Wilson sees promise in this group.  "Caitlyn Norfolk, Julia Uvalle, and Nathaly Abastida are all running well as a group and we need them to all dig a little deeper as we head into our championship meets.  They all have it in them to make a big jump in time."  Filling out the Falcon roster is freshmen Abigail Koshiol, Angel Khrino, and Alyssa Meaney.

The gun goes off at 6:20pm for the women.  The men's race is set prior to the women for a 5:50pm start and the Falcons will run Dillon Wilson-Beck and Jesus Clemente to give them another shot at the 5,000 meter distance before they make the jump to 8,000 meters.
