Bio

Kristine Gray made history during the 2018 season in many ways.  One of three women on the team over the age of 40, Kris and her two teammates, Bego Lopez and Jenny Enslin, attracted national attention by being the oldest female college cross country runners in the US.  These three not only ran, but competed well against runners 30 years younger.  Kris lead the Falcons in every race, except the University of North Florida meet where she finished second on the team behind Lopez. Kris holds the DSC record for 5k cross country with a 20:20 at the University of South Florida Invitational.

A long time runner, Kris ran competitively in high school, hitting a 5:06 mile and 11:04 2 mile.  She then chose to go to college and join an ROTC program.  Never competing in college cross country, Kris was eligible for the Falcons inaugural roster.  She met Wilson through a friend, and since then has gone from a 21 min 5k runner, to a sub 20 min runner.  "Mickey Mouse could coach Kris and she would do well.  She is so dedicated about her training, even with all the other demands on her time with marriage, four kids, a part time job, and now full time classes at DSC.  I'm amazed at her ability to balance it all.

Outlook for 2019 per Wilson:  "Kris was 63rd last year in the NJCAA national championships and I think with this past year of development, and learning how to race cross country, I could see her being in the top 45, which would be All American.  She is a smart racer, which is what you need in big races."
