Avila Receives All-American Honors

The Falcon's sophomore setter has received highest honors for her exceptional volleyball season.  Bruna Avila has been named to the AVCA Honorable Mention All-American.

Avila amassed 911 assists this season as the Falcon's court general.  She spent most of the 2019 season in the NJCAA Nation's Top 10 for assists per set with 10.24 assists per set.  Additionally, Avila made exceptional contributions on the defensive side for the Falcons recording 232 digs and 47 blocks on the season.

Avila graduates next week from Daytona State College and has signed her letter of intent to play next year for the Spartans of USC Upstate.

"Avila has left her mark on the DSC Volleyball program not only as a player but as an exceptional student and person.  It will be hard to fill her shoes next year, but I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to watch her excel at her next stop, USC Upstate," commented Stegall on Avila's honor.

Avila will graduate next week with a 4.0 grade point average.  She was also an active participant in the countless volunteer projects that the Lady Falcons have done over the past two years.

Avila is a part of an elite class of the top 45 players in the country for NJCAA Division I volleyball.
