Daytona Beach, FL (dscfalcons.com): During the events of the 2018 Daytona State College Homecoming weekend, the women's soccer team played their final home game of the season and had their chance at redemption against Broward College. During their first meeting of the season 2 weeks ago, the Falcons dropped to the Seahawks 2-0. Saturday's game saw another close match up with only one goal separating the scoreline. The Seahawks were first to score 12 minutes into the match, giving up a penalty kick 2 minutes later when Freshman Sydney Timmes (Port St. Lucie, FL) was taken down in the Seahawks' box. This was Timmes' 4th goal of the season and 3rd penalty kick finish. Michelle O'Driscoll (Cork, Ireland) would score the final goal in the 31st minute to give the Falcons the edge. Daytona outshot Broward 28-9.

The next and final game for the Falcons will be at Eastern Florida on Saturday, Oct. 20th at 7 pm. With the win over Broward, the Falcons move to 5-2 in the conference and tied for first place with Eastern Florida (4-2), who was upset by ASA Miami 2-1 on Saturday. Eastern Florida has 1 more game before Saturday, hosting Polk State tonight in Melbourne. Polk State is the only other team to defeat the Titans this season. In typical fashion of the Daytona State and Eastern Florida rivalry, the two team's final meeting will determine the winner of the regular season conference champions and the 1st and 2nd seeding of the conference tournament starting Oct. 26th.
