Daytona State Golf to Throw Out First Pitch

Hollie Muse from the Daytona State College Women's Golf team is set to throw out the First Pitch and Coach Laura Brown will be bringing the Golf's team 10th National Championship trophy at this Saturday's Daytona Tortugas home baseball game. The Tortugas are the the Class High A High affiliates of the Cincinnati Reds MLB team.

Muse is from England just finished her freshman year and finished 5th at the National Championship last week in Phoenix, AZ.  She is also a 1st Team All-American.  She was instrumental in helping Daytona State College win their 10th National Championship under the leadership of Coach Laura Brown.  DSC has won 10 championships in the last 15 years.  This year they set the all-time team scoring record with an even par 1152 over the course of 4 rounds – shattering the old record by 24 strokes.  They also had a player (Jiwon Jeon from South Korea) a sophomore that just graduated win their 7th individual title and she also broke the old scoring record by 2 strokes with an 8 under par performance. 

The Tortugas game is scheduled to start at 7:05pm with the first pitch happening around 6:30pm. The Tortugas will face off against the St. Lucie Mets and will have a post game fireworks show after the game.
