Guillory Heads to Thomas University

Sophomore cross country runner Andrew Guillory will be attending Thomas University in the fall and will compete as a Night Hawk in men's cross country and track.  Guillory is the first Falcon male cross country runner to sign on with another school to continue his academic and athletic career.  Part of Daytona State's inaugural men's cross country team in 2018, Guillory helped put the program on the map when the squad won the 2018 Region 8 meet.  He competed in three national championships for the Falcons, ending his career at the 2019 NJCAA Half Marathon championships where he ran a nine minute personal record to cross the line in 1:23 in El Paso, TX.  This past spring, Andrew competed as an unattached athlete in the steeplechase, a race that his coaches thought fit his athletic abilities well.

"Andrew has really developed academically and athletically in his time at Daytona State.  He really hit his stride this year academically, and we are so proud of the student that he has become.   He took to the steeplechase this past spring, and although was only able to run it once, embraced the grueling nature of the event. He's just that kind of guy.  We are truly going to miss him." Coach Judy Wilson said.
