Men's Soccer Ready for 2019 Season

The Daytona State College men's soccer team is back and ready for the 2019 season. With 13 returning players and only 3 of them being starters from last season, the Falcons have rebuilt the roster with 14 new faces. Three of the fourteen are international players while the others are from all over the state of Florida. Along with the rebuilt roster, the Falcons have constructed a challenging schedule for the season. The Falcons first three matches will be against teams that finished the season in the top 20 in the nation.

The Falcons finished last season 12-3-3 and will open the 2019 season with three matches against teams ranked in the top 20 to finish last season.

After a few preseason matches, the men's soccer team will host Morton College in the season opener at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24. The Panthers went 19-3-1 last season and finished No. 20 in the poll.

After the season opener, the Falcons will travel to Georgia for a big weekend of soccer. They will be facing Louisburg College on Sept. 1st. Louisburg finished last season No. 11 in the poll. Then the following day, the Falcons will play Georgia Military College who made the NJCAA National Tournament last season and finished the season ranked 9th in the poll.

The Falcons will travel again to Georgia on Sept. 7th to play Andrew College and then Andrew College will return the favor and travel to Daytona for another match on the 14th. Once again, the Falcons will play back-to-back and face University of the Bahamas on the 15th.

The Falcons kick off Region 8 play on September 17th against Region 8 Regular Season Champion Broward College. After three days of rest, the Falcons will welcome Region 8 rival Eastern Florida State College who made it all the way to the NJCAA National Tournament semi-finals last year. The Titans finished ranked 4th in the poll.

Then the men's soccer team will be on the road to face Region 8 opponents ASA Miami and Broward College.

The Falcons will play 18 matches this season with 10 of them being home matches. It is a big year for the Men's Soccer team and as always, the Falcons welcome you join them this season and cheer them on!
