Daytona State Classic Tips off 19-20 Season for the Falcons
DAYTONA BEACH – With a much-anticipated season quickly approaching, the Daytona State men's basketball team tips off the 2019-2020 season this Friday at 7:30pm in the L. Gale Lemerand Center in the Daytona State Classic.
The Falcons are looking to avenge a three point loss to Snead State last year. The Parsons from Snead State are coming to Daytona boasting back to back 25 win seasons. "It will be a great test for us. Snead State is one of the best programs in Alabama and came out of here with a win last year. We have played some good teams in the preseason and learned a lot about ourselves. I think I can speak for everyone in the program that we are excited to tip it up for real this weekend," stated McCann about opening weekend.
Daytona State is hosting a two-day classic that will include Miami-Dade College, Snead State, and Denmark Tech. The first game of the classic begins at 5:30 on Friday when MDC takes on Denmark Tech. Directly following, the Falcons will play Snead State. The classic continues on Saturday at 2:00pm with Snead State taking on Miami Dade followed by Daytona State and Denmark Tech at 4:00pm. "I think it will be a great weekend of basketball. We would love to see the community of Daytona Beach come and support our student athletes."
Admission is $5 at the door. All Daytona State home games will be broadcasted on the Daytona State College YouTube account.
