The 2019-2020 Daytona State baseball team has set themselves up to be one of the best academic teams in program history. The team posted an impressive 3.88 team cummulative GPA during the 2019 Fall Semester. This is following the Daytona State program recieveing its 12th consecutive NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Award last spring.

There were 19 student athletes on the Falcon baseball team that earned a perfect 4.0 GPA over the fall semester. 

Head Coach Tim Touma, who is entering his 19th season leading the Falcon program, was asked about his team's semester, 

"We have a special group of young men that have placed a great deal of importance on their performance, not just on the baseball field, but in the classroom as well." 

Coach Touma continued, "With the direction from our Athletic Director Will Dunne and our Academic Advisor Cynthia Iafanti we are able to provide these young men with an enviornment that is conducive to success in the classroom and more importantly, in life."

Daytona State Baseball is set to open the 2020 season at home against Florida State College of Jacksonville on January 31st.
