Lady Falcons Capture Mid-Florida Conference Recognition

Three members of the Daytona State College women's basketball program were recently recognized for their efforts on the court this season.

Kadesia Johnson and Monterika Warren were both named First Team Mid-Florida Conference. Teammate, Chelsy Springs, was named to the Second Team. All First and Second Team elected members were designated by the coaches in the Mid-Florida Athletic Conference.

Johnson, the smooth slashing sophomore from Alpharetta, Georgia, led the Falcon's defensively with 6.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Additionally she contributed 10.6 points per game and averaged 2.0 assists each outing.

Warren, a freshman from Savannah, Georgia, commanded the Falcons offensively with 11.0 points per game.   This long range specialist, also shot a team best 35% from the three point arc. Warren's 1.5 steals per game was second best for the Falcons.

Springs, a freshman from Orlando, Florida, was the Falcon's third leading scorer. Springs averaged 9.6 points per game. This all-around go getter was the second leading rebounder with 6.0 per game, and closely followed her teammates, Johnson and Warren, with 1.3 steals per game.

The Lady Falcon program is proud of the accomplishments these three ladies achieved and have turned their sights forward to the 2014-2015. They are eager to build upon this season's efforts and grow from their experience and training.
