Daytona State College is experiencing unprecedented success this season as they are currently on a 22 game winning streak.  The last time the Falcons lost a ball game was against Tallahassee the second game of the season back in November.

The Falcons have gone on to avenge their loss to Tallahassee, as well as, record an impressive 23-1 record overall.  Undefeated in conference at 7-0, Daytona State has garnered attention from not only the coaches in the region, but nationally as well.

For the third straight week, the Falcons find themselves 2nd in the region behind undefeated Gulf Coast State College, and 3rd nationally.  The Falcons won’t have the possibility to challenge the number one ranked Commodores of Gulf Coast until the championship round of the Florida State Tournament, vying both teams can outlast the six other competitive programs that will fill the FCSAA State Tournament bracket.

Currently, the Falcons are led statistically by sophomores Brittney Chambers and Jazlynd Rollins.  Chambers is averaging 18 points per game on the season, with Rollins adding 16 a contest.  Rollins surpassed her season average Saturday afternoon against the Saints of Sante Fe, scoring 29 points on the day, going 13-19 overall from the field and 2-5 from three point territory in the Falcons 93-60 victory over the Saints.

The Falcons will wrap up the 2nd round of Mid-Florida Conference play Saturday, February 6th as they host the Waves of Florida State College of Jacksonville at 2pm.
