Women's Cross Country Takes Big Stride Forward at Disney

The Daytona State Women's Cross Country team finished 8th out of 16 teams at the Disney Cross Country Classic on Saturday at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.  The top Falcon runner was first year runner Hannah Offenback, in 29th place with a time of 20:23, followed closely by Trina Spinelli at 33rd place with a time of 20:34 for the 5000meter distance.  Kris Gray snuck in under the 21:00 mark to give Daytona State three runners in front of Region 8 rival Pasco Hernando's second runner.  "We got close today.  We have not beaten Pasco yet.  They have a strong program, but we think our day is coming." said Coach Judy Wilson.  Other solid performances for the Falcons came from Moriya Patsch and Jenny Enslin.  " Both Moriya and Jenny are steady performers for us.  They are consistent and strong throughout the race." said Wilson

Next up for the Falcons is the Region 8 Championships at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee on October 25th, 2019.
