Laura Stegall was selected by Daytona State College to launch the volleyball program in 2013.  Since the conception of the program, Stegall has led the Lady Falcons to four consecutive winning seasons.

In the volleyball program's inaugural season, the Lady Falcons raked in over 20 wins, narrowly missing the regional tournament.  Over the course of the program's history, Lady Falcons have been ranked as high as 6th in the nation.  In their five seasons  under the direction of Coach Stegall, the Falcons have been listed amongst the NJCAA's top 25 each year since their inaugural season.  Stegall's tenure has been highlighted by exceptional players like NJCAA All-American, Alica Kandler, who went on to be a standout player for Virginia Commonwealth and Joely Cabrera who graduated from Daytona State College after two exceptional years as a Falcon to start for the Gamecocks of University of South Carolina. 

Stegall has veteran experience in starting collegiate volleyball programs. In 2004 she launched the volleyball program at Indiana Tech. In her two seasons at the helm of Indiana Tech’s program, Stegall helped lay a strong foundation for the program. In 2005, the inaugural season, the Warriors went 15-12. The following season Stegall led the Warriors to a 28-9 overall record, receiving honors as the WHAC Coach of the Year.

In her two seasons at Indiana Tech, Stegall coached two All-Region and two All-WHAC honorees. Additionally her commitment to her team’s academic excellence translated into nine student-athlete Scholar Athlete honors and a 2007 team grade point average of 3.53.

Before transitioning to Daytona State College, Stegall served as the assistant coach at Embry-Riddle University. During her time with the team, the Eagles earned their first NAIA National ranking and first National Tournament berth.

Stegall was a two sport collegiate athlete at Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, where she competed in both basketball and volleyball. Stegall was a standout in volleyball, leading the Mastodons in kills and digs for three consecutive seasons. She recorded 36 kills against Lewis in 2000, which still stands as the IPFW single-match record. During her career at IPFW, she also broke records for career digs (1,625), single-season digs (505), and career kills (1,895). She finished her career as a three-time All-Conference and All-Region selection, and was named the 2000 Great Lakes Valley Player of the Year.  Additionally, Stegall had the privilege of being a participant in the USA National Team Tryouts in 1997. Stegall's accolades as a Mastodon were culminated in 2006 with her induction into the IPFW Hall of Fame.

Stegall graduated from IPFW in 2002.  In spring 2013, Stegall completed her Master's Degree. with her MEd from Northcentral University.  Before pursuing a career in collegiate coaching, she began her career as an elementary education teacher.

In addition to her commitment to collegiate volleyball, Stegall has worked to enhance the development of young volleyball players. She has been involved with numerous  volleyball clubs over the years including ACJ and N3.  She most recently gives her time to DME Volleyball.

In addition to her other commitments at Daytona State College, Stegall has stepped back into the classroom to pursue her passion as an educator.  She has served as an adjunct instructor for Student Success the past three years.

Stegall moved to Daytona Beach in 2007 when husband, Randy Stegall, accepted the position as Head Baseball Coach at Embry-Riddle. The Stegall family resides in Port Orange, Fl, with their three children Sarah, Ashtyn, and Brady.
