Bio

Laura Booker Anderson is entering her third season as Head Coach for the Falcons, however this will be Anderson's 9th season with the Daytona State Women's volleyball program as she previously held the role of Assistant Coach. Anderson has been coaching the sport of volleyball for nearly 20 years with the last 9 years being at the collegiate level.  During her stint as Head Coach, Anderson has recorded 28 wins and 12 losses.  Her Falcon teams have finished in the top of the conference, been nationally ranked all season (reaching as high as 6th in the nation), and made the post season tournament each year.  Moreover, and most importantly, Coach Booker Anderson has developed her athletes in a manner that has prepared them for the next level and helped them land great opportunities for their final two seasons of play at a four year institution.

As an athlete, Anderson was a phenomenal player and work horse for the Indiana Tech Warriors from 2005-2008. During her stint at Indiana Tech, she led the team to their first NAIA National Tournament appearance and a first place finish in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference.  Anderson was named an NAIA Academic All-American (2006-2008), Wolverine Hoosier Athletic First team All-Conference member (2008), All-Conference/All-National Champion of Character (2005-2008), MVP (2008), and honored as Indiana Tech’s Hyashi Student-Athlete of the Year (2008). In 2019, Anderson was inducted into the Indiana Tech Athletic Hall of Fame alongside her 2008 teammates.

In addition to being a team captain and setter for the Warriors, Anderson recorded a 3.99 GPA in her studies. This earned her the esteemed honors of top student in both her major and the overall College of General Studies.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Indiana Tech in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation Therapy and in 2016 completed her Master of Coaching and Athletic Administration degree with a 4.0 GPA from Concordia University Irvine.

Prior to her position at Daytona State College, Anderson worked as an Admissions Counselor and Recruitment Event Coordinator at Indiana Tech.  Additionally, Anderson has coached for various elite travel volleyball programs in Northeast Indiana as well as Florida.  Previously, Anderson was involved with Pineapple Sport ONE Volleyball Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and more recently she provided coaching and skill training for DME Volleyball Academy and Florida Elite Volleyball Club.

Laura and her husband Josh Anderson reside in Port Orange, FL with their children Oliver, Layla Jo, and Lainey Mae.
