DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Coming off a winning week of conference play, the FCSAA names Sophomore Libero, Arianna Warner, Defensive Player of the Week.

Warner, who has donned the libero jersey for the Falcons during the 2023 season, had an exceptional week of play.  The former setter turned libero recorded 3.9 digs per set in the team’s pair of wins against Citrus Conference opponents Hillsborough Community College and #12 ranked Eastern Florida State College. In total Warner added 31 digs to her stats as well as 6 serving aces and 3 assists.

“This is a well-deserved honor for Arianna!” stated Head Coach Laura Booker Anderson

During the 2023 season, Warner suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Over the spring and summer, Warner worked tirelessly to come back stronger than ever for the 2024 season. “Sometimes stats don’t tell you the whole story.  This young lady is something special.  It’s not easy to come back from an ACL injury, and it’s certainly not easy to come back to a new, never played, position.” Said Coach Anderson.  “Arianna is an indispensable member of this program. Her leadership, energy, and talents are part of the reason our team has found success this year.  I am so proud of her growth and beyond excited that she is being honored as the Defensive Player of the Week!”

Warner and the Falcons hit the road this Wednesday (9/27) to take on another tough Citrus Conference Opponent Indian River State College at 5:30pm.
