The Lady Falcons led the Mid-Florida First Team All-Conference honors claiming three of the eight honoree slots. Three Lady Falcons were honored as the Mid-Florida Conference designated the 2017 award honorees.  Freshmen, Laura Kurtze and Taylor Garcia, were honored alongside sophomore, Emily DeStaffino with First Team All-Conference honors.

Kurtze has been a dominant force in Daytona State's offense, but equally eye popping is her ability to make game changing defensive plays for the Falcons.  As an outside hitter, Kurtze recorded 325 kills on the season.  She added 275 digs.  Kurtze ranks 18^th in the nation in kills on the season and 16^th in the nation in digs per set notching an average 3.45 a set. 

Daytona State College freshman middle hitter, Taylor Garcia, garnered the attention of the teams in the Mid-Florida Conference as she led her Daytona State College teammates this season in attack percentage.  Garcia landed 185 kills on the season, with a dominant .365 kill efficiency.  She additionally led the Falcons in blocking with 82 blocks on the season. 

Sophomore setter, Emily DeStaffino, demonstrated her elite skills throughouttop  regular the season and  conference play as a setter in the Mid-Florida Conference.  DeStaffino's range, ability to run a quick offense, and ability to deceptively distribute the ball, led her to log 901 assists on the season, distributing the ball at an impressive 10.60 sets per set.  DeStaffino ranks in the top 5 nationally for assists per set.  DeStaffino will sign her letter of intent next month with Stetson University where she will quarterback the offense for the Hatters in 2018.

The Falcons have currently recorded a 21-6 overall record on the season, finishing 3^rd in the very tight Mid-Florida Conference race that saw the Falcons splitting with Polk State College during Mid-Florida Conference play and dropping two matches to College of Central Florida in a four set battle at home and a tough five set loss in Ocala.
