Women's volleyball opens 2017 season at home Aug. 22

It might not feel like autumn just yet in Daytona Beach, but the 2017 school year is just a week away and along with it comes the start of the DSC fall sports season. Volleyball will begin the year at home in the L. Gale Lemerand Center gymnasium versus the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 6:00 p.m.

The Falcons are returning six sophomores this year along with a talented class of incoming freshmen sure to help Daytona State maintain its reputation of elite success. Last season, the Falcons climbed as high as #10 in the NJCAA national rankings and advanced to the FCSAA state tournament where they posted a first round win over Pensacola State.

Beginning this fall, Falcon fans will also be able to watch select DSC volleyball and soccer home games live on WDSC-TV, Daytona State's on-campus public broadcasting network. The live production is part of DSC's new Associate of Science degree program in Broadcast Television Production, which will give students hands-on experience in filming, editing and producing live sporting events and a live coaches' show. Dates for the broadcasts will be announced soon.
