Glawson Signs Joining Lady Falcon Volleyball Program

Glawson Signs Joining Lady Falcon Volleyball Program

The Lady Falcons record final middle hitter commitment for their large 2017 recruiting class.  High school senior, Shelby Glawson has selected and signed to play with Daytona State College.  In 2017, Glawson will launch her collegiate academic and athletic career.

Glawson, a current senior at Sneads High School, will join the Falcons in 2017 following a decorated high school and club career.  In her four years at Sneads, Glawson earned four Florida State Championship titles.  She was also awarded the 2016 Regional FACA Volleyball Player of the Year.

In addition to playing middle for her varsity team at Sneads for four years, Glawson has also played for Prostyle Volleyball Academy.  Glawson is an impressive competitor that is not only exceptional on the court, but equally impressive in the classroom and in her personal life.

Glawson has grown up on her family's 30-acre farm that harvests pecans and grapes and has the blessed opportunity to enjoy her animals like her donkey Murphy, her horse Coco, as well as, her four dogs.  Glawson's work ethic that has been instilled in her from her time on her family's farm has translated into her intense work ethic and commitment on the volleyball court.

Glawson will bring talent and depth to the middle hitter position for the Falcons where she will join sophomore middle hitter, Sandra Hovels, and 9A Florida State Champion, Taylor Garcia.  Together, these three strong athletes will provide an impressive offensive and defensive force for the Lady Falcons next fall.

"Glawson had quite a few offers on the table when she elected to sign with Daytona State College.  We feel extremely privileged to have both a player and person of her caliber join our program.  Glawsonjoins an impressive group of incoming freshmen that I feel will have unprecedented success for the Lady Falcon Volleyball program," remarked Coach Stegall on Glawson's recent commitment.
