Taylor Garcia, a senior at Boca Raton Community High School, will be joining the Lady Falcon Volleyball program in 2017, but not before she ended her high school season in landmark fashion.  Garcia is one of the few high school seniors that would end their high school season with a win, as Garcia and her teammates captured the 9A Florida State Championship Title over the weekend.

Garcia and her Boca Raton teammates won the match in three straight sets, where they controlled each set and the lead for nearly the entire match.  Garcia was instrumental in her team's victory offering a powerful offensive attack from the middle, while also providing poise and leadership for her junior clad team.

Garcia and her teammates finished their season with a 24-2 record in true iconic fashion marking their place in Florida State Volleyball history. 

The Lady Falcons are excited to welcome a true winner both on the court, in the classroom, and in life to the Daytona State Volleyball family.  "Garcia fits are model.  She is an awesome young lady that is driven, committed, and competitive.  Equally important, she values her teammates and the necessary relationships that go into cultivating a winning culture on and off the court. She will be a key asset to the Falcon program next fall," remarked Falcon Volleyball Coach, Laura Stegall. 

Garcia aspires to be a fireman after college, and Daytona State's EMT, Paramedic, and Fire Science program will provide Garcia the opportunities to combine her two passions, volleyball and her Public Service aspirations. 

Garcia will be a great compliment to the Falcon's returning middle in 2017, Sandra Hovels.  The two will play key roles in being the first line of defense for the Falcons, but also providing an offensive threat and balanced attack for the Lady Falcons.

In addition to Garcia's prolific high school volleyball career, she is just a month away from getting her club season underway with her Tribe Volleyball Club program. 

Congratulations to future Falcon, Taylor Garcia, and her monumental accomplishment, capturing the 2016 FHSAA 9A State Volleyball Title.  Daytona State College is proud and excited to have you on board.
