No. 4 Daytona State Wins Eleventh Straight with 4-0 Victory Over Southern Union State Community College

Daytona Beach, FL- The No. 4 Daytona State women's soccer team won its eleventh straight contest on Monday, posting its tenth shutout in eleven games with a 4-0 win over Southern Union State Community College.
 
The Falcons got goals from four different players, moving to 11-0 overall and 1-0 in region 8 play.
 
Daytona State scored three times in the first half, with Arianna Kinsley, Thea Oberhoff and Jada Samuels striking in the first period, and then Alexis Harden scoring in the second half.
 
The Falcons outshot the visiting Bison 23-0 in the game, putting eight balls on target. Emma Broch Laursen did not make a save for Daytona State as she played 45 minutes in goal during the shutout. Laursen now owns a 0.12 goals against average and Daytona State as a team has held opponents to 0.09 goals per game.
 
Over the last eleven games, the Falcons have outscored their opponents 53-1. The eleven-game winning streak is Daytona State's longest since the Falcons started the program in 2016.
 
GOALS
6' – DSC: Arianna Kinsley (assisted by Wakaba Kogure and Akari Kishida) – Kishida played a pass forward to Kogure, and Kogure served a cross to a charging Arianna Kinsley, who ran onto it in the area and scored inside the left post.
 
34' – DSC: Thea Oberhoff – Oberhoff would be fouled in the penalty area and she was able to convert the penalty kick.
 
45' – DSC: Jada Samuels (assisted by Akari Kishida) in the final seconds of the first half, Kishida would serve a corner kick to the back post where Jada Samuels would head the ball home.
 
88' – DSC: Alexis Harden – Harden carried the ball to the top of the penalty area and then fired home a shot inside the left post.
 
Sophomore defender, Alexandra Draper said in an interview "tonight wasn't our best performance as a team but I know we can come back stronger.  We have a big game on Wednesday and I am confident in what our team can do."

The Falcons will remain on the road this week, playing Eastern Florida State College on Wednesday at 7 pm and Polk State College on Saturday at 4 pm.
