Falcons Improve to 3-0

Spartanburg, SC (dscfalcons.com): The Falcons continued regular season play on Sunday, September 22nd against Spartanburg Methodist. The game was the second on the weekend for the Falcons who defeated Jones College 3-2 the previous day.

The opening goal of the game came in the 24th minute when Sydney Timmes (Port St. Lucie, FL) connected with Michelle O'Driscoll (Cork, Ireland).  Michelle was able to beat the keeper to her left for her first goal of the 2019 campaign. Ten minutes later Savannah Decastro (Bradenton, FL) scored her third goal of the season through a nice combination with Haley Yates (Port St. Lucie, FL) down the left flank.

The Falcons faced some adversity in the second half when Gabrielle Gayle (Spanish Town, Jamaica) received her second yellow card forcing the Falcons to play a man down for the majority of the second half.

"The team showed a great deal of maturity and commitment to one another today. Having to play a man down for the majority of the second half and being fatigued took a great deal of courage and dedication to each other. I am very proud of the group for the way they worked together today to overcome adversity."

The Falcons play again on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 when they travel to take on Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, FL.
