Falcons' Spring Season to Wrap up on Saturday

Daytona Beach, FL (dscfalcons.com): Daytona State women's soccer team is set to play their fourth and final Spring game this Saturday against DI Jacksonville University. The NJCAA allows soccer programs only four competition dates to be played in the Spring. The Falcons began their games in March with Embry-Riddle and Valdosta State, where they played 3 thirty minute halves. The additional breaks gives coaches the opportunity to address the team as a whole about tactics and personnel changes. While the Falcons fell to both opponents, vast improvements were made by the young Falcon squad. In last Saturday's contest against Florida Southern College, Daytona drew 1-1 with a goal by Freshman Tilda Andreasson (Gothenburg, Sweden).

"The spring season is always challenging for players in that we have to stay focused and committed to the process when there are not a large number of opportunities to showcase growth. I am happy to see how well our team has adapted and applied our training sessions to the last three games. I have seen a tremendous amount of growth in our players individually as well as in our team dynamic. Many players look completely different than the persona's they showcased in the fall. I am happy to see how much our team and players have matured," said Coach Brittany Jones.

Daytona State will finish out their Spring against JU and former Falcon standout, Kristian Shores, on Saturday, April 13th at 10:30a at the Falcon Stadium.
