Falcons Move to 4-2 in Region 8 Conference

Daytona Beach, FL (dscfalcons.com): The Daytona State women's soccer team travelled down to Miami Saturday, October 6th, for their second conference matchup against the ASA Miami. In their first meeting of the season, the Falcons had a dominant performance finishing out the game 4-0.

"I am proud of the girls for finding a way to be successful tonight.  Playing at ASA is always difficult.  For moments in the game we were dominate, but didn't execute well enough to put the game away.  ASA forced us  away from our style of play and challenged us in a way we had not seen yet this year," said Head Coach Brittany Jones.

Freshman Tayla Duffy (Rushden, England) was able to score the lone goal of the first half from a ball played into her by Tilda Andreasson (Gothenburg, Sweden). At the 62nd minute mark, ASA was able to equalize. Brooke Walden (Deltona, Florida) made 9 saves for the Falcons during the contest. With a minute and a half remaining in regulation, the Falcons earned a cornerkick that Michelle O'Driscoll (Cork, Ireland) was able to redirect into the goal.

"With two games left in regular season it is important for us to continue moving forward. We are beginning to see the group come together and I am excited for the conference tournament," said Jones.

The Falcons' next home game (and final home game of the season) will be played on Saturday, October 13th at 2pm as part of Daytona State's 2018 Homecoming celebration. Come out early for the free tailgate party for food, bounce houses, rock walls, and a corn-hole tournament! RSVP Today!
