Daytona Beach, FL (dscfalcons.com): Saturday's matchup between the Falcons and the Warriors of Webber International University was Daytona's last game before entering into conference play (region play). The Falcons had the 2-1 edge going into halftime with a goal from freshman Tilda Andreasson (Gothenburg, Sweden) only 2 minutes into play and Michelle O'Driscoll (Cork, Ireland) at the 34 minute mark. Andreasson would score again 6 minutes into the second half to bring the score to a comfortable 3-1 margin for the Falcons. At the 68 minute mark, the Warriors were able to capitalize on a DSC foul 30 yards from the goal. Freshman goalkeeper, Makenna Gottschalk (Broomfield, CO) was able to make the first save, pushing the high driven ball into the crossbar, but unable to stop former Falcon captain Megan Warner from putting the rebound away, bringing the Warriors back into the game.

"Overall, the result was positive for our group as we continue to move toward conference play. We were able to see some excellent combinations in front of goal and improved our finishing. However, we have to continue to focus our energy on the defensive side of the ball.  We should have controlled the game more than we did and as we move toward conference every goal is important whether ours or our opponents. Mental maturity and focus are our key areas to improve," said Coach Brittany Jones.

O'Driscoll would score two goals in the last 5 minutes of the match, assisted by Tayla Duffy (Rushden, England).

The Falcons will enter into conference play at 7 pm this evening, taking on the ASA Miami Silver Storm at the Falcons' Stadium.
