DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. - Daytona State College's brand new, state-of-the-art soccer stadium will host the four best teams in the state of Florida for a playoff tournament Oct. 27 - 29. The NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Tournament will feature the top four seeded teams in the conference for a three game, best-of series that will send its champion on to a district playoff with a chance to advance to the NJCAA Women's Soccer Division I National Tournament. Currently, Daytona State is the #1 seed for the tournament with a 5-0 conference record that includes two big wins over rivals and current #2 seeds Eastern Florida State College who are 5-2 in conference play. Broward College, Polk State and ASA College Miami are still competing to determine the final two seeds for the tournament.

The first and fourth seeds as well as the second and third seeds will play each other on Friday, Oct. 27, with one game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m. The order is yet to be determined. On Sunday, Oct. 29, at 6:00 p.m., the winners of Friday's games will face off in the championship final. Daytona State, currently ranked #5 in the nation, faced Eastern Florida, currently ranked #6, in the championship final last year and fell short, 3-2.

Fans, students, staff, faculty and community members are all invited to attend, tickets will be $5 at the gate. This will be the first post-season championship hosted at Daytona State's new soccer stadium. The venue has also been selected to host the 2018 Men's Division I NJCAA National Championship Tournament next November.
