DSC Makes Changes to Athletic Schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2017) – As activites are slowly resuming around Daytona State College following Hurricane Irma, the Falcons have made a few adjustments to their athletics schedule. This weekend's women's volleyball match against St. Johns River State will be played as scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the L. Gale Lemerand Center Gymnasium. The Falcons' golf team will also host the Lady Falcon Invitational Golf Tournament at LPGA International Sept. 16 and 17, as planned.

Men's soccer has postponed its match at Broward College, which was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, and women's soccer cancelled its Saturday, Sept. 16 match at home against Taccoa Falls College.

A full list of cancelled events is below. Unless otherwise noted, the cancelled games and matches will not be rescheduled.

Athletics Cancellations Due to Hurricane Irma:

  • Sept. 7: Women's volleyball @ Indian River State College 
  • Sept. 8:  Women's soccer vs Webber International 
  • Sept 10: Men's soccer at Andrew College 
  • Sept. 11: Women's soccer vs. Eastern Florida [Rescheduled for Oct. 1 at 6:00 PM]
  • Sept. 12: Women's volleyball @ Florida State College at Jacksonville 
  • Sept. 13: Men's soccer at Auburndale 
  • Sept. 14: Women's volleyball at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota 
  • Sept. 15: Men's soccer at Broward College [Will be rescheduled, TBD]
  • Sept. 16: Women's soccer vs. Taccoa Falls College

All classes at DSC campuses and online remain cancelled through Friday, Sept. 15.
