Women's soccer holds first home scrimmage

Fans have a chance to take a sneak peek at Daytona State's new state-of-the-art soccer stadium this Saturday, August 12, at 7:00 p.m. when the Falcons' women's soccer team plays its first home scrimmage of the 2017 season. The Falcons will face Middle Georgia State University under the lights, a test of both this year's squad and the new DSC field.

This is the second year for DSC's men's and women's soccer programs. Last year, the women had a great showing, including Mid-Florida Coach of the Year honors for Head Coach Brittany Jones and Mid-Florida Conference Keeper of the Year accolades for returning sophomore Kristian Shores (New Smyrna Beach, Florida).

Admission to the scrimmage is free. The DSC women's soccer squad will also take on Embry-Riddle in a preseason home scrimmage next Sunday, August 20, at 7:00 p.m. before kicking off the official season later this month.

The Falcons' men's soccer team will play its first game on the new home turf next Saturday night, August 19, at 7:00 p.m. in a preseason match-up with Flagler College.
