The Daytona State women’s soccer program released its schedule for their opening season, Friday July 29^th.

“As a first year program we are at a slight disadvantage in that we do not know the level of competition within the league. However, our fall schedule will provide us with ample opportunity to evaluate the growth of our program,” states Head Coach Brittany Jones.

The 17-game schedule includes 3 exhibition games, followed by a 6-game nonconference stretch and opens up conference play on the road September 21^st with Broward College. Daytona State is part of the NJCAA Region 8 conference, which also includes: ASA Miami, Polk State College, Eastern Florida State, and Broward College.

“We have the chance to play some very challenging opponents during regular season as well as within conference play,” says Coach Jones.

 One of the biggest opponents the Falcons will face this season is the Eastern Florida State Titans, who last year recorded a 14-0-0 regular season record and were the runners up for the 2015 NJCAA National Championship. The Florida heavyweights have consistently won Region 8 and competed for a National Championship over the last 5 years. 

“For us to have the chance to play them twice this year is a great chance to evaluate our growth as well as our ability versus the national standard,” notes Jones on the Titans.

The Falcons will also meet steep cross-conference competition with numerous teams in Georgia, including Darton State, who also made a bid for the 2015 NJCAA National Title.

“I am excited to see how we progress throughout this season in our development as a team and program,” comments Jones. 

The Falcons mark their first exhibition game at 4pm August 13^th against the U18 Player Developmental Academy out of Palm Coast, Florida.
