JIWON JEON WINS LADY GATOR INVITATIONAL LADY FALCONS FINISH 8TH

Gainesville, FL (March 11, 2018) – Daytona State sophomore, Jiwon Jeon won the Lady Gator Invitational with an impressive 5 stroke victory over Lady Gator Sierra Brooks.  Jeon shot scores of 68-66-69 (203) for a 7-under par total to win by 5 strokes.  "Jiwon continued her great play against some top ranked NCAA programs this weekend.  She continues to strike the ball very well and she is putting great," said Coach Laura Brown.  "I am very proud of the way she is playing right now.  She works very hard on her game and is well deserving of the success she is having right now."

The team finished 8th overall in the 13 team field competition with team scores of 289-287-299 (875).  Other DSC scores include Hollie Muse who shot scores of 71-73-73 (217) and finished in a tie for 24th, Grace St-Germain who finished in a tie for 41st with scores of 70-78-75 (223), Alison Crenshaw finished tied for 55th with scores of 74-83-75 (232), Kendall Johnson finished tied for 58th posting scores of 80-70-83 (233) and Elizabeth Jackson finished in a tie for 72nd with scores of 83-78-82 (243). 

"I am very pleased with my teams overall performance, said Coach Brown.  This was a tough field and course and my players hung tough and were competitive.  We posted some good rounds and my players continue to gain confidence every tournament." 

The Lady Falcons return to competition March 16th – 18th, as they are set to compete in the 3M Augusta Invitational in Augusta, GA.
