DAYTONA STATE’S JIWON JEON NAMED TO 2018 ARNOLD PALMER CUP

Daytona State's Jiwon Jeon has been selected to compete for the international team at the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup.  The announcement was made on Wednesday on the Golf Channel during Bay Hill coverage.

The Arnold Palmer Cup will take place July 6-8, 2018 at the Evian Golf Club in France.  The 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup will be the first using the expanded format of United States men's and women's collegiate golfers vs. their counterparts from around the world.  Jeon is the first NJCAA Player to be selected for this honor.

Jeon, who is currently ranked 13th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings earned her way on to the team with her solid play and outstanding record.  Her current scoring average for the year is 70.87 and her recent victories at the UNF Collegiate where she shot scores of 66-69-67 and the Lady Gator Invitational with scores of 68-66-69 solidified her being selected.

"I am extremely proud of Jiwon and this accomplishment", said Coach Laura Brown.  "Jiwon has really stepped up her game since finding out she had a chance to make this team.  She is very excited about the opportunity and is looking forward to being a part of this elite group of young ladies."
