DSC Tops Competition at Xavier Invitational

Playing on their home course, LPGA International in Daytona Beach, the Daytona State women's golf team dominated their NCAA and NJCAA competition over the three-day Xavier Invitational Tournament. DSC took the team championship by six strokes with an 886 (+22) over second place Stetson University who shot 892 (+28).

Sophomore Jiwon Jeon was the only player to finish under part for the tournament after shooting 71 (-1), 70 (-2) and 74 (+2) to record a 215 (-1) and earn her third individual title of the season. Fellow sophomore Kendall Johnson finished in fourth place with a score of 222 (+6) while sophomore Grace St-Germain shot 223 (+7) to tie for fifth. Freshman Hollie Muse continued her standout start to the season with a total score of 232 (+16) which included a 69 (-3) during the second round. She earned a tie for 18th place. Sophomore Elizabeth Jackson rounded out the Falcons' team with a 237 (+21) to finish tied for 26th. 

Conference rivals Seminole State finished in third place overall with a 922 (+58). The Raiders were the only other NJCAA team in the tournament hosted by NCAA competitor Xavier University. 

The Falcons will travel to Turtle Point Golf Club on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, at the end of this month to finish out their fall season.
