Six Falcons Ink Division 1 Scholarships

Daytona Beach, FL - On Tuesday Afternoon Daytona State Women's Basketball hosted a crowd for it's annual National Signing Day event. The Falcons saw six student-athletes ink Division 1 scholarships as they move on to pursue their academic and athletic careers.

Freshman Point Guard, Eva Bradshaw- Stetson University

Eva finished the 2023-24 season with seven double digit scoring performances, 12th in the state in assists (13th Conference), and a career high 11 points three times this season.

Sophomore Center, Alicia Spann- University of South Alabama

Alicia had ten double digit scoring perfirmances this season shooting 50% fg and logged a career high of 19 points this season.

Sophomore Forward, Nia Brown- University of North Florida

Nia had twelve double digit scoring performances & thirteen double digit rebounding games leading the team in rebounding and blocks. Finishing the 2023-24 season 2nd in the state in Blocks (2nd Conference, 9th Nationally), 2nd in the state in Defensive Rebounds (2nd Conference, 11th Nationally), and Top 50 nationally in Rebounds per game and total rebounds. Nia had a career high 16 points this season

Sophomore Guard, Bella Weary- Arkansas State University

Bella had twenty four double digit scoring performances as our leading scorer finishing the season 4th in the state in Steals (1st Conference, 29th Nationally), 9th in the state in Scoring (9th Conference), 28th Nationally in FT attempts (5th State, 4th Conference). Bella had a career high 29 points twice this season.

Sophomore Center, Kendal Moxey- Bowling Green State University

Kendal had ten double-doubles on the year, fourteen double digit scoring performances as our third leading scorer and second leading rebounder, finishing the season 2nd  in state Offensive Rebounds (3rd Conference, 33rd  Nationally), 10th  in state Total Rebounds (9th Conference), 7th  in state FG Percentage (16th Conference). Kendal had a Daytona State Career High of 25 points.

Sophomore Guard, Tasia Johnson- University of North Carolina Greensboro

Tasia had twenty three double digit scoring performances as our second leading scorer finishing the season 12th  in the state in assists (6th Conference), 5th in the state turnover/ assist ratio (5th Conference), 12th in the state in steals (3rd Conference). Tasia logged a career high 25 points this season.

Thank you to all of our student-athletes for their contributions to Daytona State College and the Women's Basketball program as all six will graduate this spring with their Associates of Arts Degrees.
