Falcons Close Out 2023 with Win Over Eagles

Americus, GA – Falcons come up victorious on the final day of the South Georgia Tech College Holiday Classic with a 71-54 win over Tallahassee Community College. The Falcons outscored the Eagles 44-27 in the second half with defensive surge to push through the finish.

Sophomore Guard Bella Weary finished with 29 points, 12-for-19 field goal, 2-for-4 3pt, and 3-for-5 from free throw. 

Other Falcons in the mix Sophomore Forward Nia Brown finished with 14 points, 5-for-13 field goal, 3-for-7 3pt, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks. Sophomore Center Kendal Moxey added 11 points, and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double performance, while Freshman Point Guard Eva Bradshaw chipped in 10 points, 4-for-8 field goal, 2-for-3 from 3pt, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds. Sophomore Guard Tasia Johnson snagged 13 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists. 

"Tallahassee was scrappy and it wasn't going to be a easy game, we applied pressure throughout the game and made adjustments that led to runs. Feels good to finish out 2023 with a win." Bella Weary stated. 

The Falcons return home on Saturday January 6th at 2:00 p.m. vs. Indian River State College in a Citrus Conference Matchup in the Lemerand Athletic Center.
