Daytona State Sophomores sign NLIs

On the first day of the National Letter of Intent for Spring 2017, sophomores Ka'Neeshia Brown and Arielle Harvey both signed to move on and play at four year institutions. 

Ka'Neeshia Brown signed with the UNC Charlotte 49ers. She has spent two seasons playing at Daytona State and has shown remarkable improvement over the course of the year. Ka'Neeshia wass the only Daytona State player to start every game this season. She led Region 8 in rebounding at 13.5 per game and finished 2nd in the country in rebounding. In addition to her  rebounding, Ka'Neeshia 10.7 points per game. Ka'Neeshia was selected to the All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team. 

"Ka'Neeshia has improved greatly over the season. She has the makings of a great post player and will continue to work hard to be an immediate impact at UNC Charlotte. Ka'Neeshia's progress has been staggering and the sky is the limit for her." -Coach Washington

Sophomore Arielle Harvey signed with St. Bonaventure. Harvey has spent one season as a Daytona Falcon and is a political science major. She started 28 of 30 games this season and led the Falcons in scoring at 16.2 points per game and was second on the in rebounding with 5.4 rebounds per game. Her scoring average ranked 4th overall in the conference. Harvey was a First Team All Mid-Florida Conference Selection, as well as an All-State Region IIIX selection.

"Arielle is one of the hardest working, most athletic and versatile players I have ever coached. She is a fierce competitor and does what it takes to get the job done. Arielle will make a huge impact for St. Bonaventure, and I look forward to tracking her contribution to Coach Fleming's program." -Coach Washington

Both Brown and Harvey will graduate in May.
