Ivan began running in high school as a track and field athlete competing in the 1600 and 3200 meter races. He wanted to continue running at a collegiate level but also wanted to attend a smaller school prior to attending a larger school. Daytona State seemed like a good fit and he contacted Coach Wilson for a spot on the team.

Coach's Comments: A 9:48 3200 meter runner from Dunbar High School, Ivan is a runner who can handle high mileage and will be looked at to add depth to the men’s squad by striving to make the top-7 by November.
