In 2022 Bart Sasnett completed his 7th season 91-23-7 (0.766) as head soccer coach at Daytona State. Sasnett started the soccer program at Daytona State in 2016 and has compiled a NJCAA men's coaching record of 245-90-16 (0.720). The Falcons have been to 4 NJCAA National Tournaments, won 4 Southeast District Titles and 3 Region 8 championships.
The 2022 season continued a winning tradition for the national powerhouse with a 15-3-1 record Region 8 champions, Southeast District title and returned to the NJCAA National Tournament the number 1 seed. Once again the program produced 3 All-Americans (13 total) and Region Player of the year.
In 2021 the Daytona State falcons captured back the Region 8 championship, defended thier Southeast District title and returned to the NJCAA National tournament. The falcon's finished the season 13-2-1, region record 2-0 and ranked 8th in the nation. The program was honored to have produced 3 All-Americans, Region Player of the Year and half a dozen players being recognized as scholar athletes of destination. Will Diaz was recognized as the FCSAA Student Athlete of the year and the team achieved above a 3.0 gpa.
In 2020-21 the Daytona State falcons ended the year 8-2-1 ranked 3rd in the country,southeast district champions and another trip to the national tournament. The successful team navigated a perfect regular season 8-0-1 and highest team GPA in program history 3.3. The accolades continued as the falcons landed 4 all-americans, the most of any team in the country.
The 2018 season was another successful year for the falcon's in the classroom as well as on the field. The falcon's finished out the year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 and 2 academic all-americans. This is the second year in a row the falcon's have achieved above a 3.0 team GPA. The men's soccer team finished the season with an over all record of 12-3-3 with a 2-2-2 region record. The falcon's finished the season ranked 14th in the country and Sasnett's over all record at Daytona has improved to 43-9-4 with a 14-5-2 region record. Coach Sasnett has also coached a number of all-region, all-south, 2 FCSAA player of the year selections and 3 All-American's since starting the program in 2015.
In 2017 the falcons finished 14-3 with a 5-1 region record falling 2-1 in overtime in the region championship game. Coach Bart's falcon's have successfully been back-to-back co-regular season Region 8 champions. The falcons finished the year ranked 16th in the country and reached as high as number 2 in the NJCAA.
In 2016 Sasnett started the new falcon program from the ground up. It was a historical run with his team winning the Region 8 Championship, Southeast District Championship and finished 7th at the National Tournament with a over-all 17-3 record and 7-2 region record. Sasnett's team would also land co-region player of the year and it's first 1st team all-american.
Coach Sasnett comes to Daytona State after spending the last 9 years at Darton State College where he won 5 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association championships. Sasnett’s teams at Darton also earned 2 Southeast District Championships as well as made 3 National Tournament appearances (2010, 2011, 2012). During Sanett’s tenure the cavalier’s men’s soccer program compiled an overall record of 123-45-4 (.727).
Coach Sasnett has been fortunate to have produced 15 All-Americans, 89 All-Region, and 28 NSCAA All-South Region players. Five cavaliers were also recognized as GCAA Most Valuable player as well. The cavalier’s men’s soccer program has had 6 Academic All-Americans during his stint as Head Coach. Coach Sasnett’s efforts has also earned Region XVII Coach of the Year honors six times, Southeast District Coach of the Year three times, and the NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year in 2011.
Coach Bart Sasnett’s teams had plenty of highlights for the men’s soccer program during his tenure at Darton. The cavaliers had been ranked in the top 20 multiple seasons. From 2010-2013 the cavaliers won a remarkable 33-straight games in GCAA play. In 2012 Sasnett's cavaliers had their first undefeated regular season (15-0) and finished 19-1, their only defeat came in the semi-final of the National Tournament. The cavaliers were ranked #1 in the country the entire season and finished tied for 3rd nationally.
In 2011 the cavaliers set program records for wins in a season (19), consecutive wins (16) and return to the National Tournament ranked #1 in the country. The cavaliers ended with a 19-2-1 record and tied for 3rd nationally. 2010 was a history making year for the cavaliers. The men's program played in its first NJCAA National Tournament. The cavaliers finished with an 18-7 record, Region XVII Tournament and Southeast District Champions. The Cavaliers would reach as high as 5th in the country and placed 6th at the National Tournament. Sasnett's 2010 team was his most high powered offense amassing a school record of 90 goals on the season.
Coach Sasnett comes to Darton after a successful campaign at National Junior College Association rival Andrew College. He was the assistant coach for both the men and women in 2002 and 2003. He took over as head coach in 2004 where he guided the men to the Region XVII championship game. For his success, he was named Region Coach of the Year and a finalist for National Coach of the Year. At Andrew he had a record of 63-49-11 with the men and women’s programs.
A native of Fort Walton Beach Florida, Coach Sasnett played his prep ball at Choctaw High School where he earned a spot on the Florida State All-Star Team. He continued his education and playing career at Andrew College. There he earned All-Region honors. He then finished his collegiate career at Tennessee Wesleyan where he graduated with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science. In 2012 Coach Sasnett went back to school and completed his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching Education in the summer of 2014. He holds a NSCAA National, Advanced National and Premier coaching diplomas.
