Co-Region 8 Player of the Year

Sophomore, Carlos Zambrano – DSC

Carlos Zambrano was named Co-Region Player of the Year after having an incredible season. The Miami, Florida native provided 6 goals and 9 assists this year.

Zambrano on the award, “I want to dedicate this award to my family and to Daytona State. My family means everything to me, I’m lucky to have the support of both of my parents with everything. They work very hard for my two brothers and I. Shoutout to my big brother; we did it bro! Daytona State gave me the opportunity to shine in a great college program and it has helped me reach goals that were once only a dream. I would also like to thank both of my coaches: Joe Avallone - who is a coach that will always have your back and help you get to where you want to be. He knows half of the world in soccer and he’s great for the program. Coach Jonathan - the brain under everything. The operator of the team. Best Assistant Coach I’ve ever had and no doubt he’s going far in coaching. I worked very hard for this after my injury in the spring, so it feels great to know I’ve achieved this award. I have never felt better being a Falcon. Thank you.”
