Men’s Soccer Team Noted with Accolades

For the 3rd straight year since the birth of the program, the Daytona State College Men's Soccer Team finished the season ranked in the top 20 in the NJCAA. In 2016 the Falcons finished in 7th with a National Tournament appearance, in 2017 it was 16th, and in 2018 it was 14th. The Men's Soccer Team at Daytona State College has become known as a top 20 team in the country and a national contender with their continuous successful seasons.

Another great achievement for the Men's Soccer Team at Daytona State College is their individual awards that they continue to receive from the NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches for outstanding performance on the pitch.

Sophomore forward Creggton Charlton from Clarendon, Jamaica, was awarded numerous awards this season from Region 8, the NJCAA and the USC.

Charlton was awarded:

  • Region 8 Player of the Year
  • Region 8 First-Team Forward
  • NJCAA 3rd Team All-American
  • United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division 1 2nd Team All-American
  • United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division 1 All-South Region First-Team

Charlton set a program record for overall points and goals while at Daytona State College. This year he scored 16 goals while adding in 6 assists. He led in overall points with 38. In two seasons at DSC, Charlton has scored 26 goals and notched 19 assists, setting his career points at 71.

Along with Charlton, two other players from the Men's Soccer Team at Daytona State College received awards from Region 8 and the USC.

Sophomore midfielder Shevon Stewart from Kingston, Jamaica, was awarded Region 8 First-Team midfielder as well as United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division 1 All-South Region Second-Team. Freshman midfielder Shandel Senior from Kingston, Jamaica, was also awarded Region 8 First-Team midfielder as well as United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division 1 All-South Region Second-Team.
