Daytona State Men’s Soccer Host 2nd Annual Team Camp

Daytona State Men’s Soccer Host 2nd Annual Team Camp

This summer Coach Bart Sasnett of the Men's Soccer Team at Daytona State College will be hosting the 2nd Annual High School Soccer Team Camp.

The camp will be held from July 16th through July 19th for high school teams. Each day the camp will begin at 9:00 AM and will consist of technical, tactical, and functional training. Afternoon sessions will conclude with 11v11 match play.

Participating teams this year are Spruce Creek High School, Seabreeze High School, Matanzas High School and New Smyrna Beach High School, as well as individuals from other high schools.

The camp will provide players the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of Daytona State College staff and guest NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA coaches. Players will be tested in technical, tactical and physical areas of the game. The camp will be hosted by Head Coach Bart Sasnett and other college and university coaches such as Daytona State College, Middle Georgia State University, Thomas University, ASA College and Albany State University.

The main concept for this camp is team building, but there is a high emphasis placed on teaching the tactical and mental aspect of the game from a college and university coach's perspective. Coming into the camp, the teams already have the knowledge from their high school coaches, but Sasnett wants them to see if from multiple coaching angles. They will get legitimate training from different college and university coaches. "Cohesion is a huge part of the game and putting these high school players into a camp setting against other high schools is a great way to build unity for the coming season," says Sasnett.
