Falcons Sweep Semi 7-0, Move to the Final against Eastern Florida

The Daytona State College Men's Soccer team defeated ASA College (Miami) in the Region 8 Semifinal Wednesday night 7-0.

Five different Falcons got on the board Wednesday night, with Miguel DeLeon and Creggton Charlton getting two a piece. This puts both freshman forwards into the double digits with goals (Miguel DeLeon having 12 goals and Creggton Charlton having 10 goals).

But those two are not the only forwards with double-digit goals. Sophomore forward Joe O'Sullivan has put in 11 goals and tallied 8 assists on the season so far.

"Those three together are a lethal combination for any defense," says head coach Bart Sasnett.

Together the forwards have a combined total of 33 goals and 22 assists this season.

The Falcons have also recorded two shutouts in the past two games and have only allowed 9 shots on goal.

"The defense has come together nicely and are working as a unit. They understand their individual roles," says Sasnett.

With the win, the Falcons move on to face Region 8 rival Eastern Florida State College on Saturday night at 6:00 for the Region 8 final, hosted at the Titan Soccer Complex. The winner will advance to the District Tournament.
