Sophomore soccer player Brandon Berg becomes the first ever Falcon to earn 1^st Team All-American honors. Berg, a sophomore captain from Sebastian, Florida, transferred to Daytona State College after an exceptional soccer career at Darton State College the year prior where he started every game and was named captain his freshman year. "Brandon was the first freshman to ever be named captain for any of my programs," says Coach Sasnett. Along with being the core for the Cavaliers at Darton, Berg was also named 1^st Team GCAA as a freshman. When head coach Bart Sasnett took the job at Daytona State, Berg was quick to follow him. "I enjoyed playing for Bart while I was at Darton," says Berg. "I learned a lot from him and I knew that he would run a successful program at Daytona and I wanted to be a part of that. I am very honored that he brought me along with him."

Brandon Berg's accomplishments this season are nothing short of spectacular and well deserved. Along with earning 1^st Team All-American, Berg was also named to the NJCAA National Championship All-Tournament Team. This honor is only given to select players at the National Tournament.

Before post-season, Berg was awarded 1^st Team All-Conference Defender as well as Region 8 Co-Player of the Year.

"Brandon has been the heart and soul of this team since day 1," says Coach Sasnett. "I am extremely proud of his accomplishments and he deserves every bit of this."

"I am extremely grateful to have been a part of two successful programs, Darton and Daytona," says Berg. "I could not have earned everything I did without the help and support of my teammates and coaches. It has been a privilege to compete at Daytona State College."
