Daytona State College Men’s Soccer Claims Region 8 Championship

With a conference record of 7-2, the Daytona State College Men's Soccer program has claimed the Region 8 Championship in their inaugural season. As the Region 8 champions, the Falcons will host the Southeast District Tournament and also enter as the #1 seed, facing the #4 seed Georgia Military on Friday at 4:00 PM.

The Falcons, who are also ranked 8th in the NJCAA, clinched home-field advantage in all of its district tournament games. Since the Daytona State College Falcons and the Eastern Florida State College Titans ended their regular season with identical conference records (7-2), they will be FCSAA co-regular season champions. As a result of the Falcons defeating the Titans in 2 out of 3 matchups in Region 8 play, the Falcons are titled the Region 8 Champions. The #3 seed Titans will face the #2 seed Richard Bland on Friday at 1:00 PM.

"I think the guys deserve all the credit," said DSC head coach Bart Sasnett on the Falcons' historic season thus far. "They worked hard for this and this is all because of them. I'm really proud of them."

The winner from both matches will face each other in the Southeast District Final on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Embry-Riddle turf field.
