Bio

Adrian Davila, enters his first season as Assistant Coach at Daytona State College in 2023-24. Prior to joining the Falcons, he was most recently at HS powerhouse, Montverde Academy (FL), which holds seven HS national championships. He served as an assistant coach and specialized as a basketball development coach. He worked with thirteen ESPN ranked high school prospects, including top 15 2024 prospects, Cooper Flagg and Asa Newell and others. In his year before arriving to Montverde, he was the head coach for US Prep, a post grad program that saw six players move on to the collegiate level in its inaugural season.

Davila spent the 2019-20 year as an assistant coach at Wayland Baptist University (NAIA), where they were a top 25 ranked team and received a NAIA national tournament invite before the COVID-19 pandemic cancellation. He was instrumental in scouting opponents and in the Pioneers’ player development, where he helped develop JJ Culver into an NAIA All-American 2nd Team selection and became only the fourth collegiate player to score 100 points or more in a single game. Davila also recruited future 2020-21 all-conference selections and SAC Freshman of the Year, Chinedu Okonkwo and Devin Avent. 

Davila arrived at Wayland after a stop at NCAA Division II Midwestern State University. As an assistant at MSU TX, Davila focused on skill development, guiding several players to All-LSC honors. He also functioned in operations and academic liaison roles for the Mustangs. 

Prior to his time in Texas, the Orlando, FL native was heavily involved in the high school and post grad basketball scene. He was also an assistant director and coach for top Florida travel teams, including Team Parsons/CP25 and Q6 All-Stars, where he has helped place over 50 student athletes to the next level. Meanwhile, he spent seven seasons on the sideline for area high schools as an assistant and head coach (16-17), including at Lake Highland Prep where he won two state championships (13' & 14'), a state runner-up (12') and assisted in developing McDonald’s All-American and future North Carolina point guard Joel Berry along with Abilene Christian all-time leading scorer Jaren Lewis. He also spent time as a lead skills trainer with Orlando Hoops, Inc. and has worked with some of the top players to come out of the state over the last decade.

Davila earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and currently resides in Clermont.
