Jan 30, 2019

Falcons Win! #25 DSC picks up a tough win on the road against Central Florida, 95-94. The atmosphere was incredible and made for an exciting game start to finish. With 16 lead changes, it was a game you didn't want to miss. Back and forth, shot for shot. Central Florida led by 2 at halftime, but the Falcons continued to battle. The score was tied at 81, Central had the ball and was holding for the last shot. DSC comes up with a huge defensive stop and causes them to miss, sending the game to overtime. The Falcons were up 2 with under 40 seconds to go and Jeremy Sheppard(Central Florida) comes down the court and after some time runs off the clock, he hits a tough step-back three to put them up 1 with 9 seconds to go. In a packed gym with all the fans on their feet, Bryce Williams drove the length of the floor and converted a tough, contested layup that put the Falcons up 1 with 2 seconds left in the game. Central Florida then threw it the length of the floor and got up a 3 point shot, but was it off target. Williams finished with a season-high 35 points, going 6-7 from three. Khadim Sy followed that with another double-double, finishing with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Zubair Seyed also had a big night, adding 17 points and 4 assists.

Coach Morris had this to say "I'm so proud of our program tonight. Players, coaches, managers, and fans. Central Florida created one of the best college basketball environments I've seen. It took an extra 5 minutes tonight, but we persevered and grew up. Coach Ryan and his team are really good so It was a tough road win."

The Falcons improve to 20-4 overall and 5-1 in conference. DSC is back home on Saturday, February 2nd at 4:00 P.M. for another tough conference game against Eastern Florida.
