Falcons (10-1) Soar Past Indians in Midweek Matchup

Falcons WIN! DSC picks up victory in midweek action against USC-Salkehatchie, 80-62. The Falcons had four players who scored in double-digits tonight. Zubair Seyed led the scoring efforts with 19 points, while Khadim Sy followed with 17 points and 19 rebounds! Dou Gueye added 13 points and 6 rebounds, while Durey Cadwell had 11 points.

Coach Morris, "I pleased tonight with our effort. We are getting better at playing 40 minutes. We had a lull for a couple minutes, but we were able to make another run and push it back out. Rebounding has been a main focus for us and for Dream (Sy) to go get 20 rebounds means that he was bought into the plan. We've got to continue to guard like we've shown we're capable of doing."

You had 4 players score in double-digits. What does that say about the depth of your team?

Morris, "Well, we tell our players all the time, talent sets the floor, character sets the ceiling. What that means is, we do believe we've got the talent, but what are our habits? Are you doing all the little things the right way? That's when you become consistently successful. We do have a deep team that's capable of having that balanced scoring every night."

Upcoming weekend preview:

Coach Morris, "The Florida JUCO Shootout is a great event and I'm really excited to compete. I think Region 8 has done a great job putting this together. We've got two really good teams that we've seen before. Tallahassee is playing well, undefeated, ranked #12 in the country. Coach White has done an amazing job with that team. Hillsborough is very talented, tough, and physical. So, I think both nights are going to require our full attention and focus to play our best basketball."

DSC improves to 10-1 on the season, ranked #23 in the country. The Falcons head to Gainesville, FL for the weekend with games against #12 Tallahassee and Hillsborough.

GO FALCONS!
