Daytona State Baseball Walks for the Heart

--Daytona Beach, FL

The 2018-2019 Falcon Baseball team was at the Daytona International Speedway Friday for the Volusia/Flagler Heartwalk. This annual event was put on by the American Heart Association to help raise money and awareness for heart disease and heart stroke. It was also a time to honor and acknowledge survivors of both heart disease and stroke.

The Falcon baseball team raised $270 that went to the American Heart Association, which was a part of the $129,438 raised overall by the event.

The evening concluded with a 2.5 mile run/walk on the Daytona International Speedway track where Daytona State baseball's own Spencer Stegemenn was the Heartwalk winner. Also on the winner's podium with Stegmenn was freshman Kyle Morrison finishing in second place.
