Four Falcons Earn Mid Florida Conference Accolades

--Daytona Beach, FL

The Daytona State Baseball team had five players voted to recieve Mid-Florida Conference accolades. 

 

Justin Rodriguez was voted First Team All Mid Florida Conference as an outfielder. Rodriguez, a redshirt sophomore, batted .347 on the year with five doubles, five homeruns and drove in 27 runs. As a defender Rodriguez recorded 93 putouts with 4 assists and a 1.000 fielding percentage. Rodriguez is from Farmingdale, NY and attended St. Dominic High School. 

 

Trent Taylor was voted Second Team All Mid Florida Conference as an outfielder. Taylor, a redshirt sophomore,  batted .325 on the year with 11 doubles, three triples, four homeruns and drove in 23 runs. As a defender Taylor had 108 putouts with 14 assists and fielding percentage of .984. Taylor is from Merritt Island, FL and attended Merritt Island High School. He will be attending the University of Central Florida next year. 

 

Bobby Sparling was voted All Mid Florida Conference Honorable Mention. Sparling, a freshman, batted .301 on the year with 9 doubles, four homeruns, and drove in 29 runs. As a defender Sparling recorded 35 putouts and one assist with a fielding percentage of .973. Sparling is from Palm Coast, FL and attended Matanzas High School. 

          

Zach Henderson was voted All Mid Florida Conference Honorable Mention. Henderson, a freshman, posted a 4.11 earned run average over 61.1 innings, with 53 strikeouts. Henderson finished the year with 6 wins and 2 losses. The left hander is from Trinity, FL and attended J.W. Mitchell High School.
